Julia Morizawa is a freelance Script Analyst offering coverage services for feature films, short films, television pilots, web series, and audio dramas/fiction podcasts. She began training and working in the field in the summer of 2020, taking classes through Script Karma and the Scriptwriter's Network, and working as a script analyst/reader for Shore Scripts, Coverfly, Bluecat Screenplay Competition, and the Austin Film Festival. She also provides coverage for screenwriters referred to her through word-of-mouth.
Julia uses her recent experience and training as a Script Analyst in combination with her 15+ years of experience as a writer/producer for independent film, internet, theatre, and audio productions, as well as 20+ years of experience as a professional actor, to provide thorough analysis, feedback, and suggestions on screenplays by writers of all levels. Her knowledge in regards to story, structure, concept, character development, dialogue, marketing potential, and more stem from a combination of this training and hands-on industry experience. Although there are basic screenwriting "rules" in format and structure that are present in the large majority of high-quality and produced scripts, Julia is not a firm believer in abiding by any single technique and does not focus her coverage reports on fulfilling these techniques.

"I am impressed by Julia Morizawa’s ability to not only cover a story well, she knows how to precisely and concisely get to the heart of what isn’t working, as well as what is. She has wonderful, clear, ideas for how to turn a decent script into a great one. She has a keen eye, and feel for screenwriting and I highly recommend her for script doctoring, coverage, and overall script advice.” -Susan Marque (screenwriter)
