January 2012

A short, first-look video for "JesusCat (or How I Accidentally Joined a Cult)" is now available to view on You Tube. Julia is currently in production for this feature-length improvisational mockumentary, which she is co-producing with Shaina Vorspan. Info and updates can be found on the project's Facebook Page.

November 2011

Julia attended the "Judas Kiss" screening at the Reeling Film Festival in Chicago on Nov. 7, 2011. Recent reviews include: "Also, shoutout-worthy is Julia Morizawa as Danny’s producer/best mate who takes the role of your hackneyed, hapless fag hag and transforms her into a feisty, funny, whatevs-saying no-nonsenser who tells it like it is." (GaydarRadio). The film is now available on DVD and VOD, or you can put it in your Netflix queue.

October 2011

"Judas Kiss" will be available on DVD on October 25 and can be ordered through Wolfe Video, TLA Video or Amazon. There are a lot of festival screenings this month as well. See the complete list on the official website.

September 2011

Julia has begun principal photography for "JesusCat," a feature-length improvisational mockumentary about vlogging, cults, cats and the second-coming of Jesus Christ. She is co-producer and co-creator of the project with Shaina Vorspan (co-creator of "Twenty-Two"). The project is intended for release online in 2012.

The final episode of "Star Trek: Odyssey" is finally here! The 2-hour series finale, "Tossed Upon the Shore" is available to view in full on YouTube. Julia plays both of her Hidden Frontier characters - S'Tal, a Vulcan, and Stadi, a Betazoid.

Julia attended the "Judas Kiss" screening at the Long Beach Q Film Festival on Sept. 16, where the film won the Best Screenplay Feature Film award. Other September screenings include: Reel Pride Film Festival in Fresno, CA (Sept. 18) and Cinema Diverse Film Festival in Palm Springs, CA (Sept. 24).

August 2011

Julia will be attending the "Judas Kiss" screening at the San Diego Film Out Film Festival on August 20. Other August screenings include Providence Rhode Island Int'l Film Festival (Aug 10), Durham North Carolina Gay and Lesbian Film Festival (Aug 11 and 14), and Vancouver Queer Film Festival (Aug 13 and 18).

Julia will be performing on stage in a scene from "Steel Magnolias" as part of the Knightsbridge Theatre's "Slanted Salon" on August 12, 13, and 14.


July 2011

Festival screenings of "Judas Kiss" this month include: Opening Night Feature at Philadelphia's QFest (July 7) and New York City's NewFest (July 24 and 26).


June 2011

"Judas Kiss" won Best Feature Debut and Best Debut Director at Q Cinema, the Fort Worth Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, on June 5. The film also screened at Out Twin Cities Film Festival in Minneapolis on June 4.

Upcoming screenings include: San Francisco's Frameline (June 19), which Julia will be attending, and Kansas City's Gay & Lesbian Film Festival (June 26).

May 2011

"Judas Kiss" screened at the Boston LGBT Film Festival on May 14. The film has been ranked as the #1 movie to see this year by Queerty, an LGBT news blog.

April 2011

A sold-out screening at the Phoenix Film Festival marked the premiere of "Judas Kiss" on April 1. More than a dozen members of the cast and crew (including Julia) were in attendance for the screening and a Q&A. "Judas Kiss" remains the highest rated film at the festival and is listed as a Must-See Movie in 2011 by the UK film blog, thatgaymovie.com. Similarly, a screening at the Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival on April 22 was also sold-out.


March 2011

"Judas Kiss" will officially be premiering at the Phoenix Film Festival on April 1. Several cast and crew, including Julia, will be in attendance. January 2011

Fantastic behind-the-scenes video for "Judas Kiss" released online. The film is scheduled to premiere this spring, followed by screenings at major film festivals throughout the country. An official trailer should be available soon.

October 2010

"Macbeezy: the Macbeth Hip-Hopera" opens October 15 at the Knightsbridge Theatre and runs for six weeks. Julia makes her musical theatre debut as the princess, Donalbainia. September 2010

Julia is currently in rehearsals for her musical theatre debut in "Macbeezy: the Macbeth Hip-Hopera." She has a small role as Donalbania, but will be making her first public rap performance (outside of karaoke). The show opens October 15th at the Knightsbridge Theatre.


August 2010

This month, Julia is on location in Seattle shooting the feature film, “Judas Kiss,” produced by J.T. Tepnapa and Carlos Pedraza of Blue Seraph Productions. Julia plays the role of Abbey Park. The film also stars Charlie David (Dante’s Cove, Mulligans), Richard Harmon (Caprica, Percy Jackson) and Brent Corrigan.


July 2010

“Romeo & Juliet” (a 1970’s disco drag farce) runs July 9-25 at the Knightsbridge Theatre. Julia plays the role of Friar Laurence - except, as a blind Kung Fu master. Enough said?

June 2010

The entire first season of “Frontier Guard” is available to view online. All twelve episodes plus a few blooper reels can be found on YouTube.

Julia disco danced on a float for “Romeo & Juliet” in the Los Angeles Gay Pride Parade in West Hollywood. Photos coming soon.

Julia has started the rehearsal process for “Romeo & Juliet” (a 1970s disco drag farce), directed by Paul Miailovich, playing at the Knightsbridge Theatre in July.

April 2010

Julia has been cast in the feature film, “Judas Kiss.” View the official press release.

The short film, “Delilah & Samson” premiered at Laemmle’s Sunset on April 27th, in which Julia plays the lead role of Delilah.

March 2010

Julia is officially wrapped for the series finale of “Star Trek: Odyssey.” A wrap party (for cast, crew and fans) is scheduled for June. Regular updates about the series can be found online at: www.hiddenfrontier.com.

Julia is currently filming the short, “Delilah & Samson.” She plays the lead role of Delilah, opposite the handsome and talented Brad C. Wilcox.

February 2010

Twenty-Two,” an original play written by and starring Julia, has been extended at the Knightsbridge due to audience request! The additional shows are Friday, Feb. 12 at 8pm and Saturday, Feb. 13 at 10:30pm.

Julia begins filming for the final Star Trek film created by Hidden Frontier Productions. She will portray both S’Tal (her original character from “Hidden Frontier”) and Stadi (her current character from “Odyssey”) in this production.

January 2010

Episode One of “Frontier Guard” has officially been released. Julia plays the role of Zyta and has already filmed the first 11 episodes.

Julia’s original play, “Twenty-Two,” is performing at the Knightsbridge Theatre, January 8-30 (Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm). Julia plays the role of Leila. She is also the writer and producer of the project.

December 2009

Julia is performing on stage in “Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol” at the Knightsbridge Theatre, December 11-19. For six performances only, this production, directed by Raymond Donahey, features five actors portraying 33 different roles. Julia plays Ghost of Christmas Past, Charity Collector One, Melody Fezziwig, Belinda Cratchit, Violet, A Harlot, A Charwoman, and a few others.

The season two finale of “Star Trek: Odyssey” (’For All Time”) is available to view online. Julia plays the role of Stadi.

September 2009

Julia is currently in rehearsals for the original play, “Twenty-Two,” which she wrote and is also producing. An invite-only preview performance is cheduled for October 17, 2009. A full run is pending for the end of the year or early 2010.

A teaser trailer for the webseries, “Frontier Guard” is available to view on You Tube. Julia plays the role of Zyta. Production for the first 7 episodes has wrapped and filming for episodes 8-11 will commence in October.

The newest episode of “Star Trek: Odyssey” (”The Immortal Loom”) is available to view online. Julia plays the role of Stadi and just wrapped filming for the season finale.

June 2009

The indie feature, “Tied Up” is finally available for purchase on Amazon and Target, or for rent on Netflix. Julia portrays the role of Star, for which she was awarded Best Supporting Actress at the Denver Underground Film Festival in 2004.

Julia is in production of the short film, “Paradise,” in which she plays the lead role of Yumi, a victim of sex-slave trafficking.

Julia is performing improv with Original Understudies in “The $5 Only Show” - every Wednesday night at 9pm at the Knightsbridge Theatre.
